The 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress integrating basic & translational science, surgery, radiotherapy, medical oncology & care
23-27 September 2011, Stockholm
From 23 to 27 September, the entire European oncology community convened in Sweden at the premier European cancer meeting: the 2011 European Multidisciplinary and mutliprofessional educational opportunity in oncology to take place in Europe.
Organised by ECCO-the European CanCer Organisation's member societies on behalf of its Founding Member societies, ESSO, ESMO, ESTRO, EACR, EONS and SIOPE, the European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress offers a unique platform for all oncologists in Europe whatever their discipline or specialty.
ESSO welcomes all surgical oncologists to attend this major multidisciplinary mass gathering, Europe's largest cancer congress in Europe, which marks an important milestone in advancing cancer research and treatment across Europe.
The European Society of Surgical Oncology has been closely involved in the design of the Surgical Oncology Track of the Scientific Programme. The surgical track includes teacing lectures and special sessions, for example on peritoneal malignancy, breast and oesophagal cancer, scientific symposia in GI cancer. The ESSO society session will cover tailored treatment for older patients. Further, there are amlple opportunities to attend sessions in gynaecological oncology, urology, head and neck cancer with surgical oncology participation as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
During ESSO's 30 years of history, surgical oncologists have had a chance to meet at the biennial ESSO Congress. With the increasing visibility an attendance of ESSO at the European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress, it appears that ESSO now has an annual meeting for surgical oncologists!
We invite you to join the surgical oncology community in Stockholm in September, this way we can collectively advance cancer therapeutics and prevention together in a multidiscilinary approach.
