The Multidisciplinary Approach in Breast Cancer Care
The aim of this programme is to allow young health professionals dedicated to breast cancer to improve their theoretical knowledge on breast cancer care and their working skills with the aim to create a core team made up of health professionals from various disciplines who have undergone specialist training in breast cancer beyond that given in general training. For each specialty the training will offer a "Focus on" on an important issue related to the specialty, such onco-plastic surgery, MRI, new approaches in radiotherapy treatment options, tailored systematic treatment, etc.
Interested candidates should send a copy of their curriculum vitae in English, together with an accompanying letter of recommendation from the Head of the Department that they are working in and a covering letter explaining their motivation and the special interest on which they wish to focus on. The deadline for the submission of applications is 31st January 2010. Only complete applications will be taken into consideration. Successful candidates will be notified on 1st March 2010. The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA), the European School of Oncology (ESO) and the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) have developed a training programme designed for young clinicians,nurses and radiographers committed to breast cancer with the aim to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in patient management. The programme consists of a comprehensive teaching package and a one-month training in a European Breast Unit.
