Join us for the 32nd Congress of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) in Spain’s third largest city, Valencia from 19-21 September 2012!

The theme of the ESSO 32 Congress is Individualising Cancer Surgery and the format is designed to promote the highest standards of surgical care in the management of patients with solid tumours.

This highly regarded Surgical Oncology Congress provides the perfect platform for participants to exchange and debate the very latest in cancer patient treatment and care.

With over 800 delegates from 60 countries, up to 100 invited leading cancer experts and a venue on the beautiful Mediterranean coast, the ESSO 32 Congress has all the ingredients for an outstanding scientific, educational and social event.

‘Individualising cancer surgery’ is the result of emerging knowledge in cancer biology, improved diagnostics and treatments. The cancer surgeon has a pivotal role in using these tools to provide every cancer patient with optimal care. ESSO 32 offers ample opportunity for cancer surgeons to be updated in the very latest treatments available for patients with solid tumours.' Peter Naredi, ESSO President and Scientific Chair.

Programme Highlights

As a direct result of feedback from previous Congress delegates, we have once again included the following popular sessions to make ESSO 32 your Congress.

Meet the Expert Breakfast Sessions

These 45 minute sessions have been specially formulated to provide delegates with a unique opportunity to meet in a formal but relaxed atmosphere. The sessions are open to all attendees but places are limited so register early to void disappointment.

Plenary Debate Sessions

Short clinical case studies on specific topics will be presented and the audience will have a chance to vote before and after the debate. A speaker in favour will propose a resolution followed by a speaker who will oppose it and then each of the presentations will be followed by a two minute rebuttal for each position after which questions will be invited from the audience.

Joint Society Sessions

To emphasise the importance of a multi-professional approach to cancer patient care, the number of Joint Society Sessions, involving experts in different disciplines has been increased for 2012. Congress Chair Santiago Gonzalez-Moreno says, Spain and Valencia have developed as a melting pot of cultures and therefore hold a cosmopolitan flavour.
