Joint ECCO 15 – 34th ESMO Multidisciplinary Congress
Advance Programme and Call for Abstracts now online

Serving multidisciplinarity is more than ever the motto of the premier European cancer meeting. With 26 different tracks the ECCO 15 – ESMO 34 Congress guarantees the necessary interplay between the disciplines and individual tumour types. The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) has been actively involved in the development of a solid and attractive surgical oncology track. ESSO now invites the community of oncology surgeons to enrich the meeting by submitting an abstract before the deadline of 29 April.

EBSQ examination, September 2009, Berlin, Germany

Organised jointly by the European Board of Surgery of the UEMS and the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) during the ECCO 15 – ESMO 34 Congress, the EBSQ examination aims at assessing the knowledge and qualifications of surgical oncologists acquired through continuing professional development.

The EBSQ examination is open to all surgical oncologists trained in Europe.

5th elective course in oncology for medical students
10 – 21 August 2009, Poznan, Poland

With the key goal of stimulating medical students to specialize in an oncology related discipline, this intensive course supported and organised by ECCO-the European Cancer Organisation will offer the 24 selected participants theoretical and practical training from experienced teachers. Surgical oncology topics will be presented by members of the ESSO Board of Directors and Education and Training Committee.

Participation is per competitive application. Successful candidates benefit from free registration and accommodation at a fellow student’s home as well as a travel grant.
