Evidence & Research in Rectal Cancer
10-12 May 2009, Rome

Jointly organized by ESTRO, ESSO and ESMO this advanced course wants to promote an integrated approach between all specialists involved in rectal cancer to tailor the best treatment for each individual patient. With a combination of lectures, case discussions in small groups and debates, the course aims to offer a truly multidisciplinary programme, focusing on the advantages of the different treatments for the different presentations of rectal cancer (evidence) and ongoing and future research in rectal cancer.

The target group consists of surgeons, radiotherapists and medical oncologists involved in the multidisciplinary treatment of rectal cancer. ESSO members benefit from a significant discount on the registration fee.

Interdisciplinary Treatment of Lung Cancer
17 – 19 September 2009, Berlin, Germany

The European Society of Surgical Oncology will organise a two and a half day course on the management of lung cancer in conjunction with the ECCO 15 – ESMO 34 Congress. This advanced course will offer a multidisciplinary programme combining both practical aspects and theoretical problems. Technical and clinical approaches will be revisited and updated. Presentations will include the state of the art and latest advancements in radiology, surgery, pathology, radiotherapy, medical oncology, anaesthesiology and pain treatment.

The course targets doctors with an interest in the management of lung cancer. Attendance is per competitive application. The 30 selected participants will receive free registration and free accommodation.
