ESSO General Assembly, 22 September, ICC Berlin
The European Society of Surgical Oncology will hold its General Assembly meeting during the ECCO 15-ESMO 34 meeting in Berlin. It will take place on Tuesday 22nd September from 18.00 to 19.30 in ICC Berlin (Room 33-34).
The General Assembly meeting offers ESSO members a unique forum to exchange views and suggestions on ESSO strategy and activities. It provides an opportunity to meet the ESSO Executive Committee and to contribute to the further development of the society.

ESSO Award Session at ECCO 15 – ESMO 34
On the occasion of ECCO 15-ESMO 34 the ESSO Award will be conferred to Professor Theo Wiggers, Head of the Surgical Oncology Department at the University Medical Center Groningen (NL) in recognition of his extraordinary efforts to improve the outcome of colorectal cancer patients. Theo Wiggers served on the ESSO Board for many years and recently developed, on behalf of ESSO, a masterclass to train (young) surgeons from all over Europe.
The ESSO award session will address the management of patients who present stage IV Colorectal Cancer from a multidisciplinary perspective. The award lecturer will address the role of the surgical oncologist whereas the following speakers will talk about the role of the medical oncologist, the radiation oncologist and the liver surgeon. The ESSO award session will be held on 23rd September from 9.00 to 11.00 (Roof Garden). Read more…

ESSO – new logo! new domain name! new website!
ESSO will be launching its new logo and website on the occasion of the ECCO 15-ESMO 34 Congress in Berlin. Visit www.essoweb.org as of 21st September to discover the new logo and new website layout. The new website will include a members’ only section. In October, all ESSO members will receive a personal login and password to access this restricted member area.
