ESSO Advanced Course on the Management of Colorectal Liver Metastases, 13-15 September 2010, Bordeaux
|

Do not miss the application deadline for the Advanced Course on the management of Colorectal Liver Metastases ESSO is organising from 12 to 15 September in Bordeaux, in conjunction with its 2010 Congress.
Interactive teaching methods like video discussions, live transmission and case presentations will be used throughout this two-and-a-half day multidisciplinary course involving renowned European experts in the field. Participants will get an insight in the various aspects of the management of colorectal liver metastases, including patient’s preoperative assessment, liver resection techniques and intra-operative ablation, synchronous resection, etc.
The participation fee is 250 EUR (175 EUR for ESSO members). It includes the registration to the course, 3-night accommodation, coffee breaks and lunches on Monday and Tuesday.

ESSO 2010 Congress, 15- 17 September 2010, Bordeaux – Programme highlights

New for 2010 the ‘Niall O’Higgins Best Paper Award Session’ on Thursday 16 September from 16:30-18:45 will feature the 12 best proffered papers. Each presenter will deliver a short presentation after which they will be invited to take questions. At the end of the session Professor O’Higgins will award three cash prizes to the winners during the Award Ceremony.
Another ‘first’ are the not-to-be-missed ‘Meet the Expert Breakfast Sessions’ on Thursday 16 September from 07:30-08:15. These sessions will provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn from and to interact with leading professionals in the field of surgical oncology in a formal but relaxed atmosphere.
Back by popular demand are the highly educational video presentations on Wednesday 15 September from 16:45-18:45. Showcasing the very latest surgical techniques for patients with solid tumours the top 8 videos will be shown after which the 3 best videos will be selected to receive a generous cash prize offered by the French Society of Surgical Oncology and the French Cancer Society.
Other highlights include the joint symposium sessions of ESSO, SSO and ESTRO on ‘The management of local recurrence of rectal cancer’ and ESSO, ESTRO and ESMO covering ‘Complete response after neo-adjuvant therapy for rectal cancer’, the French Society of Surgical Oncology symposium on clinical research in surgical oncology.

ESSO Fellowships - Visit a European specialist Center and expand your experience and knowledge

The European Society of Surgical Oncology training fellowships are aimed at young ESSO members who wish to spend between 1 to 12 months at a specialist centre to expand their clinical or research experience in surgical oncology.
In 2010 five standard fellowships of 2.000 EUR (minimum one month training) and one major fellowship of 10.000 EUR (minimum six month training) will be granted.
Applications must be submitted before the deadline of 15 October.
