ESSO Fellowships - Visit a European specialist Center and expand your experience and knowledge
|
The ESSO Education Committee is pleased to offer one major fellowship of 10.000 EUR and 5 standard fellowships of 2.000 EUR to selected young surgeons to visit a specialist centre and develop their experience or be trained in new techniques. The major fellowship is aimed for a traineeship of 6 months and over whereas the standard fellowships are designed for a one-to-three month training. Deadline for application: 15th October 2011. Multidisciplinary Teaching Course on Lung Cancer 24-26 November, Malaga, Spain

Designed for specialists and trainees with some expertise in radiotherapy, surgery or chemotherapy that are interested in the management of lung cancer, this multidisciplinary course run by the European School of Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), in partnership with ESSO, will outline the different treatments for lung cancer from evidence based medicine to the on-going research. The faculty will include chest physicians, radiologists, medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons, and radiation oncologists. ESSO Advanced Course on the Management of Peritoneal Surface Malignancy, 27-29 November 2011, Bergamo, Italy

The main objective of this two-day advanced course is to provide, through lectures and video presentations, the latest evidence concerning the new approach of peritoneal surface malignancy. It will include background information in anatomy, biology, physiopathology and pathology; rationale, pharmacological aspects and techniques of HIPEC and EPIC; SCT indications; an insight in disciplines indirectly involved such as anaesthesiology, clinical nutrition, quality of life, nursing; evidence of results. New initiative: ESSO online video library of surgical procedures

The ESSO Education & Training Committee (ETC) is currently developing a new project entitled “How I do it?” The purpose is to gather short videos on surgical procedures and make them available from the ESSO website, following peer-review by a dedicated committee. To make this project become real, the ETC welcomes your participation and invites you to submit your own videos (max. 8-10 min). Following review, videos will be posted on the ESSO website with proper acknowledgement of the author.
