ESOI/ESSO/EUSOBI Webinar: Breast cancer: A multidisciplinary approach to imaging in neoadjuvant treatment
11 November, 2019 - Preview
This multidisciplinary webinar of the European Society of Oncologic Imaging (ESOI) the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) is offered free of charge to ESOI, ESSO and EUSOBI members.
Imaging of breast cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy influences treatment decision and impacts patient’s outcome. In this clinical decision-making process, imaging plays a pivotal role, with various modalities (such as(contrast-enhanced) mammography, tomosynthesis, ultrasound and breast MRI) being at the disposal of the radiologist. Every modality has its strengths and weaknesses in terms of response monitoring of patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. It is essential that all involved clinicians are aware of these, but also know how these findings impact clinical decision making. This joint ESOI/ ESSO webinar approaches imaging from a multidisciplinary view. Attendees will learn about multidisciplinary team management, the relevant questions from clinicians and how radiologists can answer these by applying different techniques. Short lectures will be followed by case-based discussions among the teachers and attendees, in this way simulating a multidisciplinary meeting.
The presenters are:
Dr. Marjolein Smidt, who is associate professor of surgical oncology at the Maastricht University Medical Centre in Maastricht,
Dr. Marc Lobbes, who is the director of the breast imaging center of the Zuyderland Medical Center in Sittard-Geleen, the Netherlands
Due to the limited number of places, registration to attend this webinar will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Use this link as an ESSO member. Please click here to register.
