EJSO (European Journal of Surgical Oncology) is the Official Journal of the European Society of Surgical Oncology and BASO - the Association for Cancer Surgery.

EJSO aims to educate and inform about the many subspecialty disciplines of cancer surgery. The EJSO publishes original scientific articles, reviews, clinical trials, news and views, and other relevant material. The journal seeks to inform its worldwide print and electronic readership through excellence, clarity, simplicity and concise presentation of the written word and diagram.

The 2020 Impact Factors were released by Clarivate Analytics in June 2021. The new Impact Factor for the EJSO is 4.424 (up from 3.959 in 2019).

Submitting papers for publication

The Editors welcome submissions from prospective authors in respect of Editorials on any subject of relevance to cancer surgical practice; Original Articles; specialist and general Review Articles; Educational Articles; Technical or "How I do it" Articles; News Items; Conference Reports; and Letters on matters of general interest or on specialist topics.

Research areas include: epidemiology and preventative aspects of oncology; diagnosis, including imaging; all aspects of therapy, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy; applications of new equipment to surgical and clinical oncology; methods of assessing results of treatment; computing in relation to oncology. The Editors are also pleased to accept clinical curios, personal commentaries and other original material of up to three hundred words. Concise, well-written, contextual and informative obituaries on individuals who have made a significant contribution to the science or practice of cancer surgery will also be considered for publication.
