European School of Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Who we are

The European School of Soft Tissue Sarcoma Surgery is a joint venture of ESSO, CTOS (Connective Tissue Oncology Society) and the following European reference centers specialised in the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma (STS):

Objectives

The objectives of this joint venture are:

  • To provide high quality, structured, basic and advanced training in surgical approach to STS

  • To certify proficient knowledge of applying candidates in the scientific basis and clinical practice of STS care, specifically multidisciplinary decision making and surgical management

To reach these objectives, the European School of Soft Tissue Sarcoma Surgery has developed a basic and advanced 2-year training that includes the following mandatory educational activities.

A tutor/mentor recognised by the School as proficient to carry out this task will be assigned to each candidate for guidance, tutoring and planning of the participant's training activity.

Please note that this program is not funded. Some small stipends could be awarded to candidates but this is not guaranted and will depend on each institution (further information will be provided to the selected candidates).
