Dr Dawid Murawa
In 2001 Dawid Murawa graduated with honours from the Faculty of Medicine, Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences, Poznań, Poland. From 2001 to 2002 he was a postgraduate trainee at F.Raszeja Hospital, Poznań, Poland. From 2002 to 2004 he was a PhD student at the Clinic of General and Vascular Surgery, Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences, Poznań, Poland. From 2002 to 2004 he was an assistant in the Department of General Surgery, F.Raszeja Hospital, Poznań, Poland. Since 2003 he has been an assistant at the 1st Department of Surgical Oncology and General Surgery, Wielkopolska Cancer Centre, Poznań, Poland. Specialisation: general surgery - 2003-2009, surgical oncology – 2010-2012. In 2004 he was conferred a doctoral degree with honours for the dissertation Distant evaluation of the quality of life of patients after cancer-caused total gastrectomy with description of morphological lesions in the oesophagoenterostomal region. In 2012 he wrote a postdoctoral dissertation Surgical conservative treatment combined with intraoperative radiotherapy in breast cancer – a new challenge for surgery. From 2005 to 2006 - Ernst von Leyden scholarship granted by the German Cancer Society for a stay at the Surgical Oncology Clinic, Charite University, Berlin. In 2011 he received a scholarship granted by the European Society of Surgical Oncology for a stay at the Surgical Clinic of Bremen University Hospital. He has received numerous congress scholarships granted by such institutions as the European Society of Surgical Oncology and European Cancer Organisation. He received a Young Positivist Medal from Hipolit Cegielski Society for his social activity. He is a reviewer of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology for gastric cancer. He has coordinated several domestic and foreign research projects. He is a member of such scientific societies as: PTCHO (Polish Society of Surgical Oncology), PTO (Polish Society of Oncology), ESSO, EAES. He is the author and co-author of 192 congress reports and publications in domestic and foreign journals. His main areas of interest are: gastric, colorectal and breast cancers.
