Call for Nominations: Open positions on the ESSO Board of Directors
Do you want to play a more active role in the society, advancing ESSO’s mission and vision?
If so, please consider sending a nomination for the 2022 Board elections.
The open positions on the ESSO Board are:
only members who will have completed at least a two-year mandate as Board member by the time of election are eligible for this position

- EYSAC Chair
Open to young ESSO members ≤ 40, who are not in a clinical leadership role. The candidate must demonstrate an active commitment to academic surgical oncology.

Nominations are open until 17th June 2022. To apply for a position, please fill in the relevant Nomination Form.
Candidates are invited to read carefully the role and responsibilities of the position they apply for. Being a board member is more than a résumé builder. Members should be committed to following through on assignments and assisting the society to the best of their abilities. Candidates should have the appropriate skills, record of service to the Society, and time to devote to Society activities.
Candidates elected for the above positions will begin their term on the first day following the ESSO 41 Congress of 19-21 October 2022 in Bordeaux, France.
Current members of the Nominating Committee are not eligible for nomination for any position.
Nominations must reach the ESSO Secretariat, attention Carine Lecoq, ESSO Chief Operating Officer, by the deadline of 17th June 2022 in order to be considered.
Nomination Process (as per the Society’s Internal Rules)
A Nominations Committee shall be established by the Board of Directors and be responsible to the Society for the proper conduction of the election process.
The Nominations Committee shall consist of the two latest Past-Presidents, the President, the President-Elect and the Secretary General on behalf of the rest of the Board. The immediate Past-President shall serve as Chairman and shall present the nominations to the General Assembly for approval.
Once the nominations phase is closed, the Nominations Committee shall establish the list of persons applying for the open positions on the ESSO Board of Directors after having verified that they meet the conditions thereto.
The ESSO Nominations Committee will evaluate nominees and select candidates for the election. The selected candidates will be presented to the vote of the General Assembly during their meeting on 20th October 2022.
