Call for Nominations: Open positions on the ESSO Board of Directors
Do you want to play a more active role in the society?
Do you know someone who would make a good Board Member?
If so, please consider sending a nomination for the 2018 Board elections.
The two open positions on the ESSO Board are:
- Board Member
- Board Member with a specific interest in communication and social media

Candidates elected for the above positions will begin their term on the first day following the ESSO 38 Congress of 10-12 October 2018 in Budapest.

Individuals nominated should be ESSO full members in good standing, have the appropriate skills, record of service to the Society, and time to devote to Society activities.
Current members of the Nominating Committee are not eligible for nomination for any position.
Nominations may be submitted from the Board of Directors, from an affiliated society or from individual full members of the Society. Such nominations must reach the ESSO Secretariat by the deadline of 15th May 2018 in order to be considered.
- President-Elect and Ordinary Board Members (as per the Society’s Internal Rules)
A Nominations Committee shall be established by the Board of Directors and be responsible to the Society for the proper conduction of the election process.
The Nominations Committee shall consist of the two latest Past-Presidents, the President, the President-Elect and the Secretary General on behalf of the rest of the Board. The immediate Past-President shall serve as Chairman and shall present the nominations to the General Assembly for approval.
Once the nominations phase is closed, the Nominations Committee shall establish the list of persons applying for a function as Board member/Officer after having verified that they meet the conditions thereto.
The ESSO Nominations Committee will evaluate nominees and select candidates for the election. The selected candidates will be presented to the vote of the General Assembly during their meeting on 11th October 2018 in Budapest.
