ESSO Welcomes DGAV - our new German Affiliated Society 07/03/2018
It is with great pleasure that we welcome the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Allgemein- und Viszeralchirurgie (DGAV) [German Society for General and Visceral Surgery] into the ESSO community as our new German National Affiliated Society.
The DGAV's mission is to improve the quality of surgery for the welfare of patients, supporting general and visceral surgery in science and in practice. The ACO (Association Surgical Oncology) was officially founded together with the working groups of the DGAV at the Visceral Medicine 2017 in Dresden and aims to emphasize the importance of surgical oncology.
The 20th Annual Congress of the German Society of General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV) will take place from 17 to 20 April 2018 in Berlin! The presentation of the ACO concept will take place during a dedicated meeting.
More than 4,600 members were registered in the DGAV in 2015, but this number continues to grow as DGAV gains recognition for it's valuable work. We are proud to be affiliated with such a significant surgical community and extend our network throughout Germany.
