Survey: The Recognition of the Surgical Oncologist Professional Profile 13/02/2018
The European Society of Surgical Oncology is conducting a survey throughout Europe about the recognition of the Surgical Oncologist professional profile.
Whether surgical oncology constitutes a medical specialty per se is the topic of a heated debate. Today, some would agree that it is simply impossible for any one surgeon to be competent in the surgical management of all malignant disease.
While many general surgeons are actively involved in treating patients with malignant neoplasms, the classification "surgical oncologist" may be generally reserved for those surgeons who have completed an approved fellowship and examination programs.
The situation in Europe is extremely heterogeneous and we need a clear snapshot of the situation in real life.
We would be very grateful if you could find 10 minutes of your time to answer at the following 19 questions. We look forward to your answers and we appreciate your feedback on this survey.
