Background
JANE-2 will transform the way cancer care is delivered at EU level. This NoE is the first of its kind, as it focuses on transversal aspects of the disease.
This network is organised as Work Packages (WPs) covering the comprehensive area of oncology. One of these WPs is “High-Tech Medical Resources”, consisting of domains with specified foci. Among these domains is “Innovative Surgery”, whose task is to:
• Establish a sustainable NoE to ensure equal access to new procedures for treatment and intervention within surgical oncology in Europe.
• Point out procedures that are candidates for the scientific implementation of affordable surgical procedures, including multimodality / multidisciplinarity, within 4–5 years, thus closing gaps.
The scope is locally advanced and metastatic disease.
In collaboration with the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), this survey is the first step in our task to focus on closing gaps and pointing out procedures to come in Europe. Your answers will form the basis for elaborating the strategy for this work.
If you participate, please answer according to your expert knowledge within your subspecialty of surgical oncology. The results of this work will be published in high-impact journals as part of JANE-2’s objectives and deliverables.
Deadline: November 30th, 2026.
Erik Rokkones (erk@ous-hf.no) and Ibrahim Edhemovic (ibrahim.edhemovic@mf.uni-lj.si) are the point of contact for any questions regarding the survey content, scope, or definitions used.
