Aim of the course
This course is designed to provide young colorectal surgical oncologists with advanced principles and practical techniques in minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery.
The course will focus on the integration of oncological principles, surgical anatomy and technical skills in laparoscopic colorectal resections, with particular emphasis on right colectomy, transverse colon surgery, rectal cancer surgery, total mesorectal excision, complete mesocolic excision, intracorporeal anastomosis and splenic flexure mobilization.
Through a combination of expert lectures, how-to videos, interactive discussions and cadaveric hands-on training, participants will develop a structured approach to operative planning and the management of challenging colorectal cases, including postoperative complications and acute presentations.
The practical sessions will allow participants to perform laparoscopic right colectomy and low anterior resection, including vascular and mesocolic dissection, splenic flexure mobilization and colorectal anastomosis, under the supervision of experienced colorectal surgeons.
