Controversies in Colorectal Cancer (Part 1) – Early Colorectal Cancer

Aim of the webinar

This ESSO webinar is the first in series ‘Current Controversies in Colorectal Cancer’ and focused on the treatment of patients with early colorectal cancer. Bowel cancer screening programmes have increased the number of patients diagnosed with early colorectal cancer, in whom the optimal treatment strategy remains a topic of debate. In this webinar we discussed how these patients are treated at present and the possible shortcomings of these strategies. Potential improvements were introduced, both in the form of a more conservative approach to completion surgery in favour of close surveillance and more accurate stratification of risk profiles within this patient group.
