Call for Applications – ESSO Education and Training Committee

Multiple roles are available on the ESSO Education and Training Committee. We have open positions across all ETC Working Groups. Application deadline: 19th April 2026.

The Education and Training Committee (ETC) is responsible for the development and implementation of the educational strategy defined by ESSO Management Board. This strategy aims at supporting the society’s members in advancing the science and practice of surgical oncology for the benefit of cancer patients.

The Committee is composed of seven working groups:

  • Breast Working Group
  • Colorectal Working Group
  • Upper GI Working Group
  • Endocrine/Sarcoma/Melanoma Working Group
  • HPB Working Group
  • PSM Working Group
  • Transversal Working Group
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The elected candidates will:

  1. Contribute to the development, supervision and assessment of the Working Group’s educational initiatives
  2. Design and assess the educational programme for the sub-specialty (webinars, courses, etc) in line with the ESSO Core Curriculum, matching ESSO members’ educational needs, bringing in novelties and covering topics of the EBSQ Examinations in Surgical Oncology, along with the experts/speakers to be involved
  3. Facilitate sponsorship
  4. Update Curriculum section related to their sub-specialty
  5. Contribute to educational transversal activities as appropriate (research, inter-specialty or multidisciplinary)
  6. Participate actively in the Working Group meetings
TERM

The new members will be elected for a period of 2 years which may be renewed by the ESSO Board for 2 more years subject to satisfactory performance.
