The abstracts presented at the ESSO 44 Congress, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 15–17 October 2025, are now officially published in the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO). The abstracts are available to view until 17 February, 2026.
ESSO 44 marked a record-breaking year for scientific engagement, with a total of 876 abstract submissions from across the global surgical oncology community. Of these, 533 ePosters were displayed, 48 posters were selected for spotlight sessions, and 59 abstracts were presented as oral communications, reflecting the diversity of research shared during the Congress.
We invite ESSO members and the wider oncology community to explore the published abstracts and revisit the innovative research, discussions, and clinical insights that shaped ESSO 44.
Looking ahead, we warmly welcome you to join us for ESSO 45, taking place in Madrid, Spain, from 4–6 November 2026. Under the theme “Surgical Oncology Without Borders: Innovations and Challenges Worldwide,” ESSO 45 promises to be the most international Congress in ESSO’s history.
Abstract submissions for ESSO 45 will open on 11 February 2026.
