The Lancet Oncology – ESSO Contibutes to the Policy Review on iBCEs

Published in The Lancet Oncology, this international Delphi consensus provides valuable guidance on the local management of second ipsilateral breast cancer events following primary breast-conserving therapy and represents an important contribution to the field.

We are pleased to share with our Community, that the ESSO Education and Training Committee Breast Working Group and Board members have contributed to the publication of the policy review on the Management of second ipsilateral breast cancer events (iBCEs). This project is endorsed by US and European surgical and radiation oncology societies and gathered expert consensus on the issues of patient selection and local treatment strategies. The international Delphi consensus emphasises the importance of patient preferences and shared decision-making.
